It’s not often in life we face a situation that leaves us questioning everything it is we thought we believed. Mostly, avoiding this is a blessing. Usually, being shaken to your core is not a good thing.
But I, as a person filled with silver linings, look for the glimmers in encounters such as this.
When you’re faced with evaluating all you thought to be real and true, you can take a hard look at yourself too.
What do you stand for. What do you care about. What’s important to you. What gives your life meaning. How can you, at your very core be better?
It’s great if you can get to this place without an earthquake taking you there, but sometimes, that’s exactly what it takes.
Status quo is easier. It’s comfortable.
But you don’t have to be who you’ve always been. You don’t need to do what you’ve always done.
You can be better, you can be more.
Bad things happen and there’s often not much we can do about that. But, we can choose to use the bad for good.
