It’s easy to have the mentality of all or nothing. Either you do it all, have it all, be it all – or…you do, have and be nothing?
In reality, these aren’t the only two options…something is in between.
Everything is one step at a time. Every one of those steps adds up.
I recently realized this with my side business. I had spent hundreds of hours building a travel website, back when I had the time and motivation. Recently though, I’ve been doing very little with it. I felt if I couldn’t devote hours every day, it wasn’t worth spending the time.
I’ve now decided this isn’t the right mentality. If I do just one thing each week, that’s enough…for now. It’s certainly not all, but it’s not nothing either. Slow and steady progress until I can dedicate more.
So what things do you have the all or nothing approach with? Your health and eating? Sleep habits? Relationships?
Remember that everything worth doing takes time, and that’s ok. As they say, “it’s the journey, not the destination.”
