“They say a person needs just three things to be truly happy in this world: someone to love, something to do, and something to hope for.”
I’ve come to realize how true this saying is. Happiness is something almost all of us strive for, but sometimes, not all too easy to achieve. We mistakenly think that happiness comes from having the right job or title…car or house…bag or shoes. Truth be told, happiness doesn’t come from material possessions.
Everyone should have someone to love, and someone who loves them in return. Whether a spouse or partner, parent or friend, one of the most important aspects of life is our relationships.
Some of us wish for nothing to do, but alas, happiness isn’t there either. An idle mind can be dangerous. Having something to occupy us can be fulfilling in a way that boredom never does.
And lastly, hope keeps us looking forward. The past is gone and cannot be changed. Hope is the future – it’s what we aspire for, what we strive for. Without it, there can seem little reason to go on.
So, who do you love? What do you most want to do? And what are you hoping for?
For me – I love my husband, my family and my friends. I want to find my purpose. I hope for a beautiful, peaceful tomorrow. And, I am happy.
