I’m honored to share my second post for Entrepreneur.com: It’s Never Too Late to Pursue Your Passion. Maybe your dream is to be a business owner, but maybe it’s something else entirely. Whether in work or in life, it’s always important to follow your dreams and believe in yourself. We have one life and it’s made to be lived. It doesn’t matter if you’re 8 or 80, dream big and go for it. It’s never too late.
I have lots of passions and dreams in life, some of which I’m pursuing now, and others are yet to come. That’s ok. You don’t need to do it all today, but if not today, when? It’s easy to put things off for a better time – sometimes that’s a good thing as it allows you to plan, but often it’s just another excuse to avoid change and fear of failure. Really think hard about WHY you’re not pursuing your passion. If it’s money, then save and budget. If it’s approval, find a close few you can confide in and you know will support you no matter. Keep your dreams close or share them with the world, but either way – don’t give up on them.
Here are a few of my dreams and passions that I haven’t quite sorted out where they will take me:
– Animals and animal welfare
– Traveling
– Empowering others to live their best life and be the best version of themselves
– Helping the innocent…those that can’t help themselves
– Finding my creative talents…drawing, painting, writing
The list can go on. I’m thankful that many of the above play some role in my life today, and perhaps they will deepen with time. For now, I know that I’ve found the work style that works for me, I enjoy my days and I can appreciate today rather than long for tomorrow. For that, I’m thankful and only hope that I can inspire others to feel the same!
